Is the chain included?

All sterling silver pieces include the chain. Chains are available at an extra charge when purchasing a gold piece. When personalizing your gold jewelry, there is a choice to included a chain or not. 

Can I get a longer chain?

Longer silver chains are available on special request. Standard sizes are 20” with a 2” extender or 22” with a 2” extender - but we can include a longer chain if requested. There is no extra charge for a longer silver chain. 

Will my silver jewellery tarnish?

All Cara Keepsakes sterling silver lockets and chains are rhodium plated to prevent tarnishing. DO NOT wear in a shower, tub, pool, hot tub or sauna. Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, hairspray etc.

What is rhodium plating?

Rhodium is a non-tarnishing, white metal that is electroplated over our sterling silver. This prevents the tarnishing of our silver jewellery.

Your Gold Jewelry - Is It Plated?

All of our gold jewelry is 10K or 14K solid yellow gold. It is NOT plated.

Can I get my locket wet?

Your locket contains a paper photograph. It is not waterproof. Please remove your locket before bathing, showering, exercising or swimming.

Can I get my pendant wet?

Once you follow the How To Fill instructions and seal your pendant with the 'Loctite' we provide you, your pendant is waterproof.

Can I use silver cleaner on my jewelry?

Because our silver jewelry is rhodium plated, silver cleaners or dips can damage that rhodium finish. Do not use silver cleaners of any kind.

Should I crop my photos?

Since photos are inserted into an oval or heart shape, it is easier for us to crop photos to make them fit. Once you have uploaded your photo, we always ensure it is resized to fit your locket and jewelry box. Our photo resizing is included in the price of your jewelry and we are happy to do this for you.

Can you make my photo black and white? Remove blemishes? Remove red-eye? Clean up the background?

Yes! We are able to make all these changes to your photo. Please let us know in the 'Add A Note' Section at checkout.

Can I put more than one person on one side of the locket?

You can. Remember, the more people, the smaller the faces will be.

Is gift wrapping available?

Yes, every purchase is giftwrapped.

What language can my locket be engraved in?

We can engrave any language that you use to personalize your locket.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Our standard Free Shipping usually takes 4-7 business days. We use FedEx to ship all our packages.

What does Express Delivery mean?

If you purchase before 11:00 am EST, your order will be shipped out same day and you should receive it in 1-2 days (excluding weekends). During the Holiday Season, mail service could be slow and we cannot guarantee next day delivery.

There is a hole in the glass that holds the picture in my locket. Is this normal?

The notch on the left side is something every locket has. Each of our lockets comes with a notch or 'hole' in the plexiglass covering the picture so it can be removed so the picture can be changed.  This feature is found in almost all varieties of lockets made. This is not a defect but actually practical part of your beautiful keepsake.
